Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) engines boost fuel economy and performance, while lowering emissions, by injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber. However, without fuel being sprayed through the intake, dry engine valves quickly accumulate carbon deposits, robbing the engine of performance that over time can lead to engine fatigue or failure.
