SC-7500A Error Codes

F01Thebattery voltage is still under 10V
(for a 12V battery) or
5V (for a 6V battery) after 2 hours of charging.
Thebattery could be bad. Have it checked or replaced.
F02Thecharger cannot desulfate the battery.Thebattery could not be desulfated; have it checked or replaced.
F03Thebattery was unable to reach the “full charge” voltage.Maybe caused by trying to charge a large battery or bank of batteries ontoo low of a current setting. Try again with a higher current settingor have the battery checked or replaced.
F04Theconnections to the battery are reversed.Thebattery is connected backwards. Unplug the charger and reverse theconnections to the battery.
F05Thecharger was unable to keep the battery fully charged in maintain mode.Thebattery won’t hold a charge. May be caused by a drain on the battery orthe battery could be bad. Make sure there are no loads on the battery.If there are remove them. If there are none, have the battery checkedor replaced.
F06Thecharger detected that the battery may be getting too hot (thermalrunaway).Thecharger automatically shuts the current off if it detects the batterymay be getting too hot. Have the battery checked or replaced.
SC-7500A Troubleshooting
PROBLEMPOSSIBLE CAUSESOLUTION
Thebattery is connected and the charger is on, but isn't charging.Thecharger is in tester mode, not charger mode.Pressthe CHARGE START button to activate charging and select a charge rate.
Indicatorlights are lit in an erratic manner not explained in the “Using YourBattery Charger” section.Youmight have accidentally activated a special diagnostic mode.Makesure nothing is touching the control panel, then unplug the charger andplug it in again.
DIGITALDISPLAY always flashes before the battery is completely charged.Theincorrect battery type may have been selected. This will happen if thebattery did not reach full charge within 24 hours. May be due to a verylarge battery or a bank of batteries requiring more power than thecharger can deliver within 24 hours. The battery may also be faulty.Resetthe charger by briefly unplugging it or briefly disconnecting thenegative battery clamp. Select the desired rate (SMALL or LARGEBATTERY) and BATTERY TYPE again, if necessary.
Thegreen CHARGED LED lights a few minutes after connecting to the battery.Thebattery may be fully charged or recently charged, leaving the batteryvoltage high enough to appear to be fully charged.Ifthe battery is in a vehicle, turn the headlights on for a few minutes,to reduce the battery voltage; then try charging again.
Theincorrect battery type may have been selected.Resetthe charger, by briefly unplugging it or briefly disconnecting thenegative battery clamp. Select the desired rate (SMALL or LARGEBATTERY) and battery type again, if necessary.
Thecharger is making an audible clicking sound.Circuitbreaker is cycling.Thesettings may be wrong. Check the charger settings.
Thebattery is defective.Havethe battery checked.
Shortedbattery cables or clamps.Circuitbreaker cycles when current draw is too high. Check for shorted cablesor clamps and replace, if necessary.
Severelydischarged, but otherwise good battery.Thebattery may not want to accept a charge, due to a run-down state. Allowcharging to continue until battery has a chance to recover sufficientlyto take a charge. If more than 20 minutes, stop charging and have thebattery checked.
Reversedconnections to the battery.Shutthe charger off and correct the lead connections.
Chargermakes a loud buzz or hum.Transformerlaminations vibrate (buzz).Noproblem, this is a normal condition.
ShortedDiode Assembly or Output Rectifier Assembly (hum).Havecharger checked by a qualified technician.
