This special filter fitting is used inline between the tank fill hose and the virgin refrigerant tank to help prevent any tank debris from getting inside the A/C RRR machine. DO NOT accept look alike or knock off filters. You must regularly change the 34430 filter-drier to assure adequate moisture and contaminant removal. Moisture Indicator References the moisture content of the refrigerant being recycled. Pale yellow indicates wet and light mint green indicates dry. During recycling the moisture indicator is normally filled with liquid refrigerant and warm to the touch.

Vacuum Switch Normally closed switch that opens at 13 +/- 3" Hg and resets at 3 +/- 3" Hg. If the vacuum in the inlet is deeper than 13" Hg, the switch opens and stops the recovery or recycling process. This switch must also open to bring the unit out of clearing.

System Oil Separator Separates oil from refrigerant. Internal heat causes incoming saturated vapor to evaporate. This is important to be sure no liquid enters the compressor and that oil droplets contained in the incoming refrigerant will drop out in the separator. This also works as a heat exchanger.
