BATTERY CHARGERS

Vector’s PURE DC output current provides a more efficient, stable charge by regulating both voltage and amperage through each stage of the charging process, depending on the battery’s state of charge. This results in higher quality charge without overcharging or overheating of the battery while extending its serviceable life. Conventional chargers start out at their maximum rated current and steadily decline. Some models never shut off and can even “cook” a battery, resulting in excessive high temperature “boiling”, higher temperature which may lead to exposed plates and shorten the life of the battery.
Vector’s Smart Battery Chargers’ PURE DC output current provides a more high efficient charge. The crude form, chopped, pulsating DC current from conventional chargers produces a less efficient charge. Low AC line voltage and/or extension cord use can cause conventional chargers to produce a lower charging current that falls below rated specifications. Under these same conditions Vector’s Smart Battery Chargers’ output remains unaffected and charging current maintains itself at the full selected rate.
NEW SUPERIOR “SMART” 3-STAGE HIGH EFFICIENCY CHARGING TECHNOLOGY
Built-in Microprocessor Control Provides Fast, Safe and Full Battery Charge.
STAGE 1 - BULK CHARGE/RAPID START - More efficient than conventional type chargers, even in very hot or very cold temperatures, this charger delivers maximum charging amperage to “wake up” any serviceable 12 volt battery and allows for quick engine starting within minutes (see selection guide). When battery reaches a maximum safe predetermined voltage, the digital sensors and microprocessor automatically switch into stage 2 of the charging process.
STAGE 2 - ABSORPTION CHARGE - Maintains the maximum possible safe charge at a constant predetermined voltage. During this (stage 2) voltage absorption regulation charge, the charging voltage remains constant, while the actual charging current is reduced to allow for the maximum proper internal chemical energy transfer.
STAGE 3 - TOP-OFF CHARGE - Automatically maintains and reduces voltage to a predetermined level while adjusting current is adjusted for a safe, effective full battery charge (step-down regulation mode). Ideal for topping off batteries that have been in storage. Automatic shut-off occurs at full charge - you can trust this charger to never overcharge any battery, or cause pressure leaking of battery acid, even if it is left unattended while charging in hot summer temperatures.

BATTERY RECONDITION/DESULFATE New electronic pulse technology reverses the natural insulating sulfate build-up (commonly known as memory) on battery plates, significantly improving the charge carrying capability. Hook-up the charger, push the RECONDITION button and the rest is automatic. Shorted or open cells will not be fixed.
ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE CHECK can determine if the alternator is outputting within typical voltage range. NOTE: Alternators and electrical systems vary widely, so the accuracy of some indications are subject to test conditions, procedures and possible problems, as fully described in the User’s Guide. After a vehicle engine warm-up period of ten minutes, the test takes five seconds. An Alternator Good LED lights if the alternator is within typical range.
* Approximate charging times are based on 50% discharged mid-size car battery.
** Approximate charging times are based on 50% discharged full size vehicle/truck car battery.
Results may vary due to temperature, age of battery or other factors.
