The Schumacher SC-200A speedcharge automatic battery charger and maintainer is 2 to 3 times faster than traditional chargers. The integrated microprocessor provides voltage and current control to maximize charging efficiency and minimize charging time. Automatically switches been charge mode and maintain mode. Float-mode monitoring keeps the battery at its peak level by delivering a small current when necessary - if the battery voltage drops below a preset level the charge will go back into charge mode until voltage level returns to full charge level. If the battery is left discharged for an extended period of time it could become sulfated and not accept a normal charge. If a sulfated battery is detected the SC-200A will switch to a special mode of operation designed for such batteries and will resume charging once the battery has been desulfated. Reverse-hookup protection will check that polarity of the connected battery and will only start operating if correctly connected.
